Our Financial Planning Process

The benefit—and art—of financial planning is not in having more information, it’s learning how to think differently about your association with your money.

Our financial planning process begins with understanding who you are and what you’re seeking to accomplish.

Your ongoing experience will include:

Getting Organized meeting (first 1-3 weeks): Gather and organize your financial and investment statements to begin building the foundation of your financial plan.

Financial Strategy meeting (first 2-4 weeks): Write your statement of financial purpose, review your financial data for accuracy, set strategic financial goals with defined next steps and timeline. Begin implementation.

Investment Strategy (first 2-4 weeks): Review your current investments and location of accounts, make adjustments as needed to properly align investments with goals, timeframe, and risk tolerance. Begin implementation.

Estate plan coodination (first 1-3 months): If you already have an estate plan in place, we’ll review all the documents to ensure they are still cohesive and will execute your wishes. If you do not have an estate plan in place, we can coordinate information to help provide you with an Estate Plan (including a revocable trust, will, financial power of attorney, medical power of attorney, and other documents) in a time-efficient and cost-effective manner.

Midpoint meeting (first 4-6 months): Check-in on financial progress and early strategy milestones. Update financial and investment strategy as needed based on changes to your situation.

Anniversary meeting (annually): Celebrate your financial progress over the prior twelve months, update financial and investment strategy as needed, review beneficiaries, revise goals and next steps. Begin implementing.

Quarterly financial and investment progress: You will receive a proactive email at the beginning of each quarter showing your ongoing progress throughout the year. You’ll see rates of return, and also a quick update of financial and net worth progress.
